BigRep Introduces a Large-Format 3D Printer for Industrial Applications
BigRep, the global leader in large-format 3D printing, will unveil its new-generation STUDIO printer at the RAPID+TCT event in Detroit (May 20 – 23, 2019, BigRep booth 503). The new and improved BigRep STUDIO G2 is designed to print engineering-grade materials while continuing to offer all the advantages that have established the original, award-winning STUDIO as the workhorse 3D printer for premium large-format objects. The STUDIO G2 is available to order now.
“We are excited to host the world premiere of the STUDIO G2 at North America’s most influential AM event – RAPID+TCT. We believe that both customers already relying on the original machine and new ones will appreciate the many advanced features of the STUDIO G2,” said BigRep CBO, Frank Marangell.
Offering unmatched speed and resolution in large-format additive, the German engineered and manufactured STUDIO G2 is specially designed for industrial applications. Thanks to its new, fully enclosed and insulated build envelope of 500 mm x 1000 mm x 500 mm, fast-heating print bed reaching 100°C, and temperature-controlled filament chamber, the STUDIO G2 has been propelled to a class of its own. With its dual extruder equipped with two 0.6 mm ruby nozzles, the printer is capable of producing detailed results with abrasive engineering-grade materials, such as PA6/66, at layer heights as little as 0.1 mm. Future materials to be released will include other engineering-grade materials like ASA and composite materials with carbon / glass fiber enhancement.
The STUGIO G2 also comes equipped with the new proprietary BigRep BLADE slicer software, which provides accurate printing time and material use calculations for optimized productivity.
“The new generation STUDIO G2 is a great addition to our expanding industrial portfolio of large-format printers. Based on proven, successful technology, the STUDIO G2 is upgraded with key features that industrial users need,” said BigRep CEO, Stephan Beyer, PhD. “We’ve built it for printing with the abrasive, engineering-grade materials that the industry demands in a next-level, space-saving printer for large-format parts.”
The STUDIO G2 is ergonomically designed to fit any workspace with maximum ease of use and accessibility. Standing at an ideal height of 1765 mm, it’s a sleek workhorse machine that’s optimized for everyday use even where space is at a premium.
In addition to the STUDIO G2 introduction, BigRep will also showcase the highly anticipated new BigRep PRO, equipped with BigRep’s exclusive MXT Metering Extruder Technology, and a state-of-the-art Bosch Rexroth motion control system. Lastly BigRep, for the first time in North America, will showcase NERA, the world’s first fully 3D-printed e-motorbike, and its designer, Marco Mattia Cristofori will present on how it came to life in just 12 weeks.
