Whether you’re looking to sharpen your technical expertise, explore new trends, or strengthen leadership skills, there’s something new waiting for you in this fall’s catalog.
“Each of these new courses reflects where our industry is headed — and what professionals need to stay ahead," says Joe Marin, senior vice president of Member Services, PRINTING United Alliance. "Print Meets AI and AI for Image Creators help printers, designers, and production teams understand how emerging tools like ChatGPT and Photoshop’s generative AI can be applied right now, in realistic ways, to work smarter and faster. Workplace Impairment addresses another crucial area—safety and compliance—helping leaders build safer, more aware workplaces. Together, these courses expand what it means to be skilled in print today: creative, adaptable, and informed.”
This course, taught by color management experts Jim Raffel and Shelby Sapusek of ColorCasters, introduces print professionals to the practical applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in image creation and color management. Intended for graphic designers, prepress technicians, brand managers, and art directors, those who take this course will learn how AI is used in the print production workflow through real-life demonstrations and examples. Topics covered in this 1.5-hour course include AI image tools, color calibration, working with color profiles, spotting AI-generated content, and understanding legal and ethical considerations. Whether you're experimenting with AI for the first time or looking to fine-tune your creative output, this course offers helpful, hands-on guidance to help you stay ahead in a changing industry.
Also intended for graphic designers, prepress technicians, brand managers, and art directors is this AI for image creation course. This two-hour class, led by instructor Amybeth Menendez, allows participants to discover how tools like Photoshop, Bing, and Midjourney have revolutionized image creation in the printing industry. This course offers actual insights into how these platforms are being used and what’s coming next for the industry. Participants will also explore the Content Authenticity Initiative, a critical movement toward transparency and trust in our new age of AI and digital content creation. Menendez also gives a forward-looking perspective on emerging tools like Acrobat AI and what they could mean for your workflow and productivity.
