Expo Bound: Exploring Trends and Technologies
Dale Bryson, director of operations at Ace Displays (Southlake, Texas), shares why he’s attending the 2025 PRINTING United Expo in Orlando (October 22-24).
Wide-format Impressions: Tell me a little bit about your company:
Dale Bryson: Ace Displays is a leader in providing custom-printed, high-impact displays for live events of all kinds. We specialize in soft-signage solutions, from simple portable banners to large-scale setups, designed for easy assembly and unmatched convenience. With industry-leading turnaround times and a best-in-class online ordering experience, our team delivers top-quality products, printed in the US, that make brands shine.
WFI: What motivated you to attend the Expo this year?
DB: The Printing United Expo is a must-attend event for Ace Displays. I attend because I’m always on the lookout for new tools and technologies that can enhance our offerings and/or drive efficiency in our operations. It’s also a great place to meet and network with suppliers, colleagues, and peers.
WFI: If you’re a first-time attendee, what are you hoping to learn? If you're returning, what brings you back?
DB: Part of my role is to ensure that we stay ahead in delivering innovative solutions for our clients. The Expo is a great way to get a sense of the latest trends and tech in wide-format printing and display solutions. As always, I’ll be looking at the latest machinery and software, while watching out for new automation technologies that can elevate Ace Displays’ efficiency and product quality.
WFI: Which products, brands, or services are you most looking forward to seeing at the Expo?
DB: I’m excited to explore advancements in wide-format machinery – printers, cutters, finishing systems, etc. I also enjoy discovering new printable media offerings (dye-sub fabric, vinyl, etc.) that can potentially improve our product offerings.
WFI: How do you plan to maximize your time at the Expo?
DB: We start by mapping out all the exhibitors we want to visit, and then we’ll plan out a route and walk the floor. We’ll also schedule meetings/demos with current and potential partners to discuss ongoing business or new opportunities. Along the way we'll keep our eyes open for anything that looks new and interesting, which adds some excitement to the experience. And, planning a great dinner with the right people is always critical.
WFI: How do you think attending the Expo will impact your business or career?
DB: The things we learn and discover at the Expo help to keep us at the forefront of innovation in our industry. Personally, it’s a chance to stay abreast of trends which should ultimately result in strategic leadership decisions that drive growth at Ace Displays.
