After 31 years of service to the printing industry through NAPCO Media and PRINTING United Alliance, Dave Leskusky has announced that he will retire at the end of 2026, concluding a distinguished career defined by leadership, growth, and an enduring commitment to the industry and its people.
Leskusky’s career has been shaped by his ability to listen closely to the market, recognize emerging opportunities, and build products and initiatives that address the industry’s evolving needs. Throughout that journey, he has worked alongside talented colleagues and partners who helped transform not only the organization, but also the industry it serves.
His career began in 1995, when he joined NAPCO Media selling classified advertising for Printing Impressions magazine in a highly competitive publishing landscape that included respected brands such as Graphic Arts Monthly, American Printer, Quick Printing, and the Blue Books. At the time, he could hardly have imagined where that first position would lead.
Seven years later, Leskusky was promoted to Publisher, and in 2013, he was named President of NAPCO Media. In 2019, he played a key role in NAPCO Media’s sale to SGIA. The subsequent combination of SGIA, NAPCO Media, Printing Industries of America, and Idealliance helped create what is today PRINTING United Alliance, the largest and most robust member-based printing and graphic arts association in North America.
Over the past three decades, Leskusky and his colleagues navigated some of the most consequential periods of change and disruption in the industry’s history. Through it all, the organization remained resilient -- adapting, expanding, and evolving to meet the needs of the marketplace. It launched new initiatives, pursued a strategic mergers and acquisitions strategy, broadened its portfolio of products, media brands, and events, and ultimately helped build an organization that serves as a trusted resource and advocate for the entire printing industry.
“Dave’s influence on this organization, and on the industry itself, is impossible to overstate,” said Ford Bowers, CEO, PRINTING United Alliance. “He has an extraordinary ability to see where the market is headed, bring people together around a shared opportunity, and turn ambitious ideas into lasting value. Just as important, Dave has always led with integrity, humility, and a genuine appreciation for the people around him. His fingerprints are on so much of what we have built, and his leadership, friendship, and commitment to this industry will continue to be felt for many years to come.”
Leskusky leaves an organization that is well positioned for the future, driven by an important mission and significant opportunities for continued growth. It is an accomplishment of which he is deeply proud, and one he is quick to describe as a collective achievement.
“The greatest gift of this career has been the people I’ve met along the way,” Leskusky said. “Whatever we accomplished, we accomplished together. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside incredibly talented people who cared deeply about this organization and this amazing industry. The friendships, the shared challenges, and everything we built together are what I’ll carry with me.”
Although his retirement will become official at the end of the year, the transition will be thoughtful and deliberate. Leskusky will remain engaged with the Alliance in a consulting capacity through September 2027, providing institutional knowledge, continuity, and support as needed.
As Leskusky reflects on his remarkable 31-year journey, he says that it is not the acquisitions, brand launches, events, products, or organizational milestones that stand out most. He closes this chapter with tremendous gratitude for the opportunities he was given, for an industry that became such an important part of his life, and, above all, for the people who shared the journey with him. The teammates, partners, members, and friends he met along the way are what he will remember most, what he values most, and what he will miss most.
