Breakthrough THREADX Conference is Announced for 2018
FAIRFAX, Va. - October 12, 2017 - THREADX, SGIA's newest conference for the dynamic apparel printing community, is set to offer printers an opportunity to identify the new reality of consumers and brands, their print buying needs and strategic shifts in their buying habits.
The conference will emphasize the concept of cooperating with your competition, or "co-opetition."
"THREADX will be a summit where people in the industry can come together as a group and move our industry forward," said long-standing member of SGIA's Garment Decorating Committee, Brett Bowden of Printed Threads. "This has been a bit of a passion project for me, to bring in some industries that will inspire us to do our jobs better."
The new event was announced yesterday at SGIA's Garment Decorator's Luncheon, held in conjunction with the SGIA Expo. Greg Kitson of Mind's Eye Graphics moderated a panel with Bowden, Chris Bernat of Vapor Apparel and Pierre Jamnicky of Blue Moon Promotional Inc, before Tim Williams of YR Store took the stage.
"One way to enter a market is as an expert, and ThreadX gives you a platform for becoming an expert in our field," said Bernat.
According to Bernat, the old idea of having a print buyer between a brand and the printer is dated. "Big brands don’t want reps between them and their printers," he said. However, according to Bernat, many printers aren't comfortable in a room full of competitors, so the mindset has to change to allow "cooperation with your competition." THREADX is set to offer this for printers.
THREADX will offer a program of forward-thinking, inspired and motivated apparel decoration executives with creative vision for their businesses. With a focus on e-commerce, THREADX 2018 will satisfy apparel printer's appetite for usable inspiration with speakers including Johnny Earle (Johnny Cupcakes), riCardo Crespo (Th13teen) and Tim Williams (YR Store). Here’s where the next generation of leaders is coming together. THREADX will take place Feb. 25-28, 2018, in Palm Springs, Calif.
