Mike Bennett, the artist behind Dinolandia, was asked to speak at a summit being held in Pioneer Square in Portland, Oregon, directly across the street from his current exhibit space. He agreed, and asked Infinity Images to produce larger-than-life graphics for the stage, blowing up some of his pieces so they could be seen from a distance. But that’s not what ended up making headlines. As part of the event, organizers decided to lean into the dinosaur theme, and decided to try and break the Guinness World Record for the most number of people in inflatable dinosaur costumes in a single place. The previous record was 252 dinosaurs. And that day? They had 380, making Portland the new record holder.
