DGI Introduces New Textile Printers

DGI’s (PRINTING United Booth 8227) Poseidon is a new mid-range 1.6-meter wide sublimation transfer printer utilizing the same industrial Kyocera printheads used in the true industrial DGI HSFT III. This proven technology reliably enables the printer to have up to a 118% speed increase over the DGI FT-1608. Poseidon — the 2019 SGIA Product of the Year winner in “Roll-to-Roll Dye Sub on Textile (Under $50,000)” — is designed for unattended printing supporting a new sleep mode that enables the user to print jobs without being in attendance. This printer is targeted at the mid-level production company who needs a high volume of capacity but also needs the flexibility of multiple printers for different designs. There is also an “SE” model, which has an additional printhead enabling the customer to install spot colors or fluorescent inks alongside CMYK while maintaining the incredible speeds (120 square meters per hour). A mini jumbo roll unit will also soon be available to offer companies even more flexibility with the ability to load 2,500 linear meters of transfer sublimation paper.

DGI’s other latest product, the Apollon, is a 16-printhead direct-to-textile printer which prints with reactive inks with production speeds of around 250 square meters per hour. This printer is targeted at the fashion and interior décor sectors.
