And the Winner is…
Sabine Geldermann, director of drupa and global head, printing technology, Messe Düsseldorf, is the recipient of this year’s Girls Who Print Girlie Award, coinciding with Girls Who Print’s 10th anniversary. Geldermann was surprised with the honor at the Print Media Centr Booth (12141) on International Print Day 2019, the first day of PRINTING United.
The Girlie Award is presented annually to a woman who has demonstrated a commitment to serving the community and exemplifies outstanding leadership. Geldermann travels the world advocating for print and addressing the challenges of an evolving industry, engaging with local associations to support their efforts and ensure drupa’s market research and education is representative of the industry on a global scale. Geldermann also supervises printing technology overall for Messe Düsseldorf.
Girls Who Print is the world’s largest online network of women in the print industry, with more than 6,000 members worldwide. The initiative partners with the Printing Industries of America to offer womensprintnetworking.com, a free platform to facilitate knowledge-sharing and community. More information on Girls Who Print can be found at girlswhoprint.net.
On receiving the Girlie, Geldermann comments: “It’s such an honor. ... I will always try to support the best women in our industry and encourage them to look forward to working in such a brilliant and fascinating industry.”
Corn, Girl No. 1 at Girls Who Print, who presents the annual award, adds, “There are few people who work harder than Sabine to promote and support the print industry, and more importantly the future of print, on a truly global scale. Presenting Sabine with the Girlie Award on International Print Day, at the inaugural PRINTING United, made it even more special. It is an honor for Girls Who Print to acknowledge her achievements and celebrate one of the most amazing women in the industry, and I am thrilled to be working with Sabine and her team to bring The Printerverse to drupa 2020.”
