AccuLink Partners with The Mosaica Group to Purchase Dye Sublimation Printer
AccuLink, the largest commercial printer and mail house in eastern North Carolina, will significantly increase their dye sublimation production after investing in the Panthera S4-1.8m, a revolutionary high-speed digital dye sublimation printing system, at the 2019 FESPA Global Print Expo in Munich.
Tom O’Brien, President of AccuLink, based in Greenville, NC, invested in the Panthera through their long-time distribution partner, Randy Peters, President and CEO of The Mosaica Group, based in Sussex, WI. The Mosaica Group is a national distributor supporting dye sublimation and wide format print processes with equipment, consumables and services, and is the exclusive distributor of the Panthera in North America and Canada.
The Panthera S4 is available in both 1.8m and 3.2m widths. Each S4 model has four Kyocera print heads that achieve speeds up to 4,000 square feet per hour. Panthera printing systems feature a specially-developed print head controller that offers better precision and printing quality, along with an anti-crash system on the carriage to protect the print heads from incorrectly hitting the transfer paper. The printer offers a flawless roll-to-roll feeding system that helps to eliminate paper waste. The Panthera is able to use low-weight paper (as low as 22 gsm) due to a highly-sophisticated tension control system.
Its latest features debuted at FESPA include the newly-developed Intelligent Camera System (ICS) using high-definition cameras. This technology will enable remote supervision and printing by using a distant remote control, i.e. computer, tablet or mobile phone. Also newly added is a “direct to flag” option that allows any user to switch back and forth from paper printing to printing direct to flag material without changing the ink set or adjusting the workflow settings.
Upon hearing the latest features were going to be demonstrated at FESPA, O’Brien made the decision to travel across the world to meet with Randy Peters and the manufacturer of the Panthera, Dr. Mickael Mheidle, Chairman and CEO of Swiss Performance Chemicals. “My main priority is to maintain the high level of quality, speed and accuracy our customers expect,” said O’Brien. “The Panthera is the perfect solution that will enable us to print high-quality graphics consistently with advanced productivity while minimizing my overhead costs, and the ICS will prove extraordinary benefits in terms of simplifying operations.”
In tandem with launching the Panthera, The Mosaica Group offers a complete dye sublimation portfolio that encompasses everything from tissue paper to ink and features both classic and premium high-performance dye sublimation transfer papers. Utilizing a unique new coating formulation, SupremeJET releases up to 20 percent more ink than other transfer papers being used in the market today.
The Mosaica Group’s dye sublimation product line includes SupremeJET premium dye sublimation inks, also produced by Dr. Mheidle. These high-quality yet cost-effective inks offer extremely low consumption with a quick transfer rate. SupremeJET inks are the ultimate complement to the Panthera and other dye sublimation printers for obtaining optimal speed and quality as each ink formula is specially designed for sublimation print heads.
